Little Axe Health Center Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy (PT) is a health care profession primarily concerned with the remediation of impairments/disabilities and the promotion of mobility, functional ability, quality of life and movement potential. Some benefits of physical therapy include improving motion and mobility, avoiding surgery and prescription drugs, and recovery following surgery. The LAHC PT department is composed of physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, physical therapy technicians/aides, and student physical therapy interns. These professionals provide services to patients referred by their physician. All interventions are based upon the results of assessments from the appropriate disciplines and are aimed at maximizing the patient’s functional independence and performance.

Ultrasound, neuromuscular stimulation, manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise/activities are some of the treatments provided. Each patient seen in physical therapy receives an individualized home exercise program.

The physical therapy department hours are from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
