ADPI Music & Memory New Testimony

Traditions, attitudes about aging, and other attributes of families and cultural groups have important influences on health and well-being.  Looking specifically at the implications of dementia, the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health System is making dementia awareness and services a primary focus.  This video provides a small window into the life of someone striving to improve his health and well-being through participation in the Music and Memory program.

Without the support and funding from the Indian Health Service and the Administration for Community Living, we would not have been able to produce this video or develop and provide this program to the Native American population within our service area.  We have learned that it takes creativity, empathy, and innovation to achieve the goal of delivering dementia knowledge and awareness to the community and that this is only the beginning of a long journey.

Our gratitude goes out to Mr. Raymond Tiger for his participation in the making of this video.  We hope you enjoy this production.
