To access Specialty Services at the Absentee Shawnee Tribal Health System, you must be an established patient and have obtained an in-house referral from your ASTHS primary care provider. I.H.S. beneficiaries may be referred for an initial evaluation by a specialty physician, however, if patient is not covered by a third party insurance, patient will be referred back to their service area.

Podiatry
Having foot or ankle pain? We offer the following podiatric service covering issues with bunions, calluses, corns, Diabetic foot checks, toenail care, wound care, heel pain, injuries and more
Endocrinology

Nephrology

Patients would be referred to a nephrologist if there are any signs of kidney disease, including blood or protein in the urine, disturbances of electrolyte and acid/base balance, kidney stones, acute kidney failure, and chronic kidney disease.

Hematology focuses on the care of patients with disorders of the blood, bone marrow and lymphatic systems.
Orthopedics

Patients would be referred would be referred to this specialty if there are any signs of joint pain, loss of motion in a joint or joints, or inflammation (swelling, redness, and warmth in a joint or affected area).

Ophthalmology
An ophthalmologist diagnosis and treats all eye diseases, performs eye surgery and prescribes and fits eyeglasses and contact lenses to correct vision problems.
